    The Government Solutions Division of Black Box Network Services is an information systems integrator that designs, implements and maintains telecommunications and data solutions for Federal customers worldwide.

    Black Box is seeking a qualified Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) Technician to provide support to the US Army installed base of Cisco 8.6.1 CUCM Unified Communications (UC) equipment and associated systems installed throughout South Korea. The Switch Technician is responsible for the advanced operation, and maintenance of DSN voice switches, peripheral systems and transport equipment supporting the DSN network installed throughout South Korea.

    This position will be located in the United States Army Garrison- Yongsan, Seoul Republic of Korea.


    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Principle duties and responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

    • The primary function of the Switch Technician is to be the subject matter expert in the daily operation and maintenance of Cisco VoIP/Unified Communications (UC) environments, including Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) operating on software release 8.6.1 and 10.5.2. This includes the installation/upgrade, configuration, administration, repair, and preventative maintenance of Cisco CUCM and UC voice and network equipment.
    • Coordination, installation, testing, and troubleshooting of transmission facilities including Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) and Optical SONET systems supporting the DSN network.
    • Troubleshooting Cisco CUCM/ UC systems and network devices to include coordinating technical resources from the Black Box Network Operations Center (NOC) and the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM).
    • Complete work orders for moves, adds, changes (MAC) and deletions
    • Provide technical support and training to end-users.
    • Ensure front-line customer satisfaction by dealing professionally and effectively with all customers/clients, providing support to a varied user community.
    • Update daily logs with site specific information; and compose clear and concise reports for customer documentation.
    • Respond to emergency situations during or after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate customers concerns and meet Service Level Agreements (SLA).



    Required Skills and Qualifications:

    • Minimum Associates degree in Telecommunications Applied Science or related field and/or five (5)+ years equivalent work experience is required.
    • Minimum of 7 years of experience maintaining enterprise and standalone Cisco UC solutions Experience working within a US Department of Defense or US Army environment a plus.
    • CCNA-Collaboration or CCNA-Voice certification required
    • CCNP-Collaboration or CCNP-Voice certification a plus
    • CCNA-Routing & Switching certification a plus
    • Must be DoD 8570.01-M certified at the IAT II level at time of hire. IAT Level II certifications include:
      • GSEC
      • Security+ ce
      • CCNA Security
      • SSCP
    • Secret Clearance is required
    • A valid driver’s license is required.
    • Must be a US citizen.
    • Must have a valid US Passport
    • The Switch Technician is expected to perform his/her duties with minimum supervision, and participate in cross-functional projects as scheduled.
    • General knowledge in the use of electronic test equipment is required.
    • Ability to successfully handle multiple priorities simultaneously is required.
    • Ability to work extremely flexible hours and support on-call duties and shift work is required.
